Reflections from My Holiday
I just returned from a lovely holiday, basking in hot, sunny weather. Spain was stunning!. It was a great opportunity for some quality family time, and watching Sophia swim like a dolphin was a highlight! The trip allowed my brain to unwind and reflect on where to place my energies moving forward.
I had planned to host my Nature Voice day today, but unfortunately, I didn't get the numbers I was hoping for to make it a pleasant gathering. Adding to that, both Sophia and I caught a nasty cold and fever after coming home from Spain. She experienced the worst of it first, and when I started feeling unwell, I realised that perhaps there was a reason things didn’t work out for my Nature Voice day as I would have had to cancel the event anyway!
In more positive news, Sophia has just completed year 4 and is excited about transitioning to year 5. It’s astonishing how quickly the years have gone by! She is doing well and we got a great School report.
So this summer, I aim to relax and embrace the art of doing absolutely nothing—though I say "nothing", I’m working on composing a Christmas song for my choirs, which I’m really looking forward to.
In addition to music, I’ve dipped my toes into the world of coding, and I managed to create membership cards for my choir members. I’m super chuffed about that! They're set up for a smooth "scan as you come in" experience, and I cannot wait to distribute them. I've also taken the plunge into re-building my own website. A DIY journey inspired by countless hours of YouTube tutorials. I’m thrilled with the results!
Is everything achievable?.... It certainly feels that way.
Throughout my life, I’ve often surprised myself with skills I thought I could never tackle, and here I am, conquering them one by one. Have you experienced something similar? I would love to hear your stories!
I truly believe that doing something completely different is a significant achievement. In my music journey, ideas are always evolving. While I continue to run my successful choirs and teach, my desire to help people on their music journey grows stronger. Yes, there is a flood of music teaching content on YouTube—some great and some less so! But as someone once told me, think of YouTube as a living library, filled with people instead of books. That perspective resonated with me.
As I navigate my slow and steady growth on YouTube, I hold her words close to my heart. My nan used to say, "The best things come to those who wait."
I genuinely enjoy writing blogs, and I'm determined to keep at it.
Until next time, stay in touch!
Warm regards, Becky
